Ukrainians have already spent 11.3 billion hryvnia of “Winter Support,” most of it on utility bills.
This was reported on Telegram by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
“Citizens are actively using the ‘thousand’ and have already spent UAH 11.3 billion in aid. Most often, the funds are used to pay for utilities — this accounts for about 80% of expenses. Other popular categories include food, medicine, and donations to the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the message says.
In total, 17.8 million Ukrainians have applied for and received assistance, including 3.5 million children. All payments under this program have already been made in full. The funds can be used until June 30, 2026.
At the same time, payments of UAH 6,500 continue to be made to vulnerable groups of the population. They have already been received by 374,367 people, and citizens have spent UAH 1.1 billion of this amount, mainly on clothing for adults and children, as well as footwear.
The head of government noted that other state support programs for the winter period are also in place in Ukraine: targeted assistance for residents of frontline territories and internally displaced persons, including payments for firewood, compensation for 100 kW of electricity per person per month during the cold season, as well as energy efficiency support programs for businesses, private homes, and condominiums.
