Ukrainians will be paid for connecting generators to mobile stations: what are the conditions

11 November 02:41

Owners of generators with a capacity of at least 7.2 kW will be compensated for connecting them to mobile communication stations. This is stated in the report of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The Ministry of Digital Transformation noted that when the power is turned off, mobile operators’ towers are left without power.

“We are uniting the owners of generators who can provide support to maintain communication where necessary. The project is designed to keep Ukrainians in touch with their families during power outages, to call an ambulance and use critical services,” the agency said.

A generator of at least 7.2 kW can become part of a large support network during blackouts. The approximate amount of compensation for the provision of a generator, which depends on the kW consumed, is UAH 1320-1720, i.e. 110-140 UAH/hour.

It can be roughly received in 12 hours. The amount depends on the number of kW consumed and your taxation system.

How to join the system

  1. Check your generator. Minimum power: at least 7.2 kW. The power of 7.2 kW must be free to connect the base station.
  2. Call the hotline at: 0 800 33 63 28. The Ministry of Digital Transformation will help you choose a station, agree on the location and tariff.
  3. Sign a contract with a mobile operator. It is official and simple: documents, details, conditions.
  4. Use generators during power outages and get paid for it
  5. Payments are made to the details and terms specified in the contract.

In this case, the owner leases the generator, but refuel and maintain it independently.
