Just a few days left: how to apply for the Schoolchildren’s Package by November 15

Ukrainian families with first-graders going to school this year have a few more days to apply for state aid under the Schoolchildren’s Package program. Applications are accepted until November 15, 2025. This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Funding for the program
As of November 10, the program has been funded by 82% of the planned amount, which is more than UAH 980 million. 196 thousand families have already received the money, and a total of 246 thousand applications have been submitted, of which 202 thousand have been approved.
In the last wave of payments, more than 8.5 thousand families received assistance, which amounted to UAH 43.5 million.
Ukrainians spend most of the money on children’s clothes, shoes and school supplies. In total, more than UAH 695 million has already been spent through the Schoolchildren’s Package.
What is included in the “Schoolchildren’s Package”
UAH 5,000 is provided for each first-grader. This money can be used to buy
- school clothes and shoes
- stationery; and
- books and educational materials.
The purchases can be made in offline or online stores that accept non-cash payments.
For your convenience, a special platform has been created with more than 27 thousand stores participating in the program.
How to apply
You can apply for the Schoolchildren’s Package online through the Diia app or in writing at the nearest service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
Online remains the most popular method – almost 208 thousand families have applied through Diia, and another 38 thousand have applied to the Fund’s service centers. Below are step-by-step instructions for both options.
Online through the Diia application:
- Check that the application is updated.
- Go to the Services → State aid → Schoolchildren’s package section.
- Select the child for whom you are applying for aid.
- Select or open Diia.Card for payments.
- Check the data and sign the application with Diia.Signature.
Offline at the Pension Fund service center
You must submit:
- passport or other identity document;
- tax number (RNOKPP);
- documents of a legal representative (if necessary).
The payment is transferred to the Diia.Card or to the bank account specified in the application within 14 days. The funds can be used within 180 days from the date of enrollment.
Who implements the program
the “Schoolchildren’s Package” was created at the initiative of the President of Ukraine. The project was developed jointly by the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Pension Fund of Ukraine and the State Service for Children.
The implementation is supported by international partners such as the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Sweden, Switzerland, and the DECIDE educational project, which helps to decentralize education in Ukraine.
