Ukrainians start receiving cashback for August: the state will pay UAH 509 million

The payment for August 2025 under the National Cashback program has started. In the coming days, the program participants will receive a record UAH 509 million from the state, the largest monthly compensation since the program was launched. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Economy.
“This is a record monthly compensation for the purchase of domestic goods since the program was launched,” the statement said.
During this period, Ukrainians spent almost UAH 5.1 billion on domestically produced goods. More than 3.6 million users who activated their cards in the Diia app thus supported Ukrainian producers.
The funds received can be used for:
- paying for utilities
- purchase of medicines
- purchase of books;
- contributions to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Problems with payments
For two months now, Ukrainians have been complaining that payments under the National Cashback program have been delayed.
The last transfers were made in early September for purchases made in July.
Payments for August are still being processed, which has caused dissatisfaction among users and criticism from business associations, which have even called for a review of the program’s continuation.

How to join the program
Apply through the website or mobile application of one of the 20 banks participating in the program.
Identify the cards you use to pay for your purchases and give the bank permission to transfer information about transactions on these cards to participating stores for cashback.
Open a physical or virtual “National Cashback” card to which the cashback under the program will be credited.
In the “Diia” application, in the “Services” section, select a card for “National Cashback” payments of the bank in which the card was issued.
National Cashback funds are not taxed and are not taken into account when granting subsidies and benefits. You cannot withdraw funds in cash or transfer them to another bank card.
What is “National cashback”?
“National Cashback is a government initiative that involves a partial refund by the state for domestically produced goods purchased by Ukrainians.
Citizens can receive 10% of the cost of purchases made under the program. The minimum amount is two hryvnias, and the maximum amount can be up to UAH 3,000. The funds are credited to a special bank account. They can be spent until the end of 2025, after which the account balance will be canceled.
