Ukrposhta is raising some of its parcel rates: what’s changing starting April 1
1 April 19:37
Starting April 1, Ukrposhta is updating some of its parcel shipping rates. This is the first price adjustment since 2024, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
The company attributes the change to rising operating costs, which have increased due to higher fuel prices, infrastructure maintenance, and network operations during energy crises.
Why are the rates changing?
Ukrposhta says that the key reason is a change in the company’s cost structure.
Among the main factors:
- rising fuel costs;
- infrastructure maintenance costs;
- ensuring network operations during blackouts;
- restoring transportation and branches after Russian shelling.
As a result, the company has decided to make targeted adjustments to rates, depending on the type of shipment.
How much will prices change?
According to the operator, the increase will be moderate and uneven.
- for the smallest parcels — approximately 5 hryvnias;
- some priority rates will remain unchanged;
- larger shipments will be subject to greater adjustments.
The company explains that these categories were the ones that lagged the most behind the actual cost of delivery.
How to save money
At the same time, Ukrposhta reminds customers that they can reduce shipping costs.
This can be done by:
- online parcel registration;
- pre-creating a shipment in the online service.
This method saves 5 hryvnias per parcel and speeds up service at the post office.
Other recent changes in rates
Recently, the postal operator has already changed certain delivery rules.
Specifically:
- the company has eliminated the fee for returning international packages that were not received abroad (previously, this cost between $30 and $100);
- as of October 1, the Prime rate for small shipments to the U.S. was reduced.
Thus, Ukrposhta says it is trying to strike a balance between rising costs and the affordability of postal services.
