UZ raises prices for tea and coffee on trains for the first time in six years
17 June 2025 16:15
Ukrzaliznytsia, the state-owned enterprise, has announced an increase in prices for a number of drinks on long-distance trains. This is the first increase in the last six years and will affect the cost of tea, coffee, and other beverages, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Main price changes
The most significant change will be in the price of classic tea, which will double from 10 hryvnia to 20 hryvnia per glass. According to representatives of Ukrzaliznytsia, even after the increase, the price will remain significantly lower than the market average.
The cost of soda will also rise to 20 hryvnias:
- carbonated and non-carbonated water
- instant coffee;
- 3-in-1 coffee drink.
The railroad’s management explains the increase by the need to cover operating costs associated with the sale of products. The last price increase took place in 2018, while during this period the cost of raw materials, energy prices, logistics costs and the general inflation index increased significantly.
