On Wednesday, October 1, another round of Russian shelling in Sumy region damaged energy and railroad infrastructure. As a result, several Ukrzaliznytsia trains are delayed in transit. This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“Due to the shelling in Sumy region, we have damaged infrastructure and power outages, and we have put reserve diesel locomotives on standby,” the company said.
Currently, the railroad is waiting for the air raid to go off in order to inspect the tracks, check the dimensions, and restore safe traffic.
The following flights are delayed:
- no. 779/780 Kyiv – Sumy (2 hours 57 minutes);

As a reminder, on the night of September 30, Russian troops also attacked the railway infrastructure. As a result, trains in the Chernihiv direction were running with delays, and some routes were covered by backup diesel locomotives, which increased travel time for trains to/from Chernihiv, Sumy, and Shostka.
Power engineers and railway workers are currently working to restore power supply and traffic on all sections.
