Ukrzaliznytsia introduced a new timetable on January 22: what has changed for passengers
22 January 02:03
On the night of January 22, Ukrzaliznytsia’s new train schedule came into effect. In total, more than 200 trains will run according to the new schedule. Ukrzaliznytsia announced this on its Facebook page, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Which trains are affected by the changes
The changes affected 118 long-distance trains, as well as over a hundred regional and suburban trains.
Ukrzaliznytsia notes that the new schedule was developed in record time to stabilize traffic after massive delays caused by infrastructure damage and power outages due to Russian shelling.
What exactly has changed in the schedule
The updates concern not only departure and arrival times, but also the duration of trips and the routes of individual trains.
The carrier emphasizes that traffic safety and punctuality were key priorities when developing the new schedule.
“Your tickets purchased after January 8 already reflect the new departure and arrival times. Passengers who purchased tickets on websites or at ticket offices of foreign carriers are asked to be attentive and check the times on the official channels of Ukrzaliznytsia,” the statement said.
Attention to passengers on international flights
Passengers on two international trains should be especially careful, as tickets may have been purchased before the changes were approved and may contain outdated departure dates or times.
Both flights will depart earlier than previously scheduled:
- No. 9 Kyiv – Budapest – departure at 09:43 instead of 11:05;
- No. 749 Kyiv – Vienna – departure at 12:33 instead of 13:05.
Where to check the current schedule
Passengers can check the current train schedule:
- in the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app;
- on the carrier’s official website;
- on information boards at stations.
Ukrzaliznytsia urges passengers to check departure times before traveling, especially for international and long-distance trips.
