The government has updated the rules of the eBus queue system: what will change
21 August 00:15
The government has approved new rules for the use of the eChezhda system for buses, which will soon be launched. This was reported by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The purpose of the changes is to make border crossing for buses more predictable and comfortable for passengers.
What will change in the eCheck system?
The updated rules will primarily apply to the slotted queue at 23 of the 29 checkpoints where it is already in place. In the future, it is planned to scale the system to all border crossing points.
Among the main innovations:
- Booking a place in the queue. If a carrier has not booked a slot for a regular route 72 hours before the scheduled border crossing time, this place becomes available for irregular carriers.
- Free slots. If there is no regular route available at a particular time, all carriers can book it 30 days before the crossing date.
- Short routes (up to 400 km). Carriers will be able to book as many slots as the number of border crossings provided for in the permit for the day. This is important for routes with several flights per day.
- Assignment of slots to a carrier. If a company consistently performs its regular flights, it will retain a time slot for each route.
Other rules still apply:
- Driver or vehicle replacement is available.
- One permit for a route (regular or irregular) means crossing the border with only one bus;
- The presence of parity carriers does not imply the possibility of registering all three of them for a trip at the same time with the same permit. One permit = one carrier and one bus.
- Cancellation of a place in the queue at the request of the user and automatically by the eCheck system. The latter is possible in case of entering false information about the bus, driver, permits, or the checkpoint to be crossed.
When will the new rules come into effect?
The Ministry notes that the changes will come into force after the system is technically finalized, which will be announced later.
What is the eChezha system?
The eChezha service has been operating since May 2023 at border crossing points with the EU and Moldova. It allows online booking of border crossing times, reducing queues and optimizing traffic flow.
