The government has compiled a list of goods that are prohibited from being exported from the country

By its Resolution No. 1481 dated December 24, 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the list of goods whose exports will be subject to licensing and quotas in 2025. At the same time, such goods as salt, gas, and even certain waste are subject to zero quotas, i.e., a ban on exports, reports "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

Goods banned from export from the country:

  • Salt suitable for human consumption.
  • Natural gas of Ukrainian origin.
  • Silver and gold (except for banking metals).
  • Waste and scrap of precious metals.
  • Electrical and electronic waste containing precious metals.

Commodities with limited quotas:

  • K-grade coking coal – 1.3 million tons.
  • Liquid fuel (fuel oil) – 400 thousand tons.

The government has also set quotas for goods whose export to the EU is subject to licensing. As you know, the EU has set quotas for the following Ukrainian goods:

  • poultry
  • eggs
  • sugar
  • oats
  • cereals
  • corn;
  • honey.

The Resolution also provides for the licensing of exports and imports of ozone-depleting substances and equipment that may contain them.

The document comes into force on January 1, 2025. Export and import licenses that were not used in 2024 will remain valid until March 1, 2025.
