The Government approved the payment of UAH 6500 of aid under the “Winter Support” package

The government has approved a payment program – a one-time financial assistance of UAH 6,500 for the most vulnerable categories of people as part of the Winter Support package. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
According to her, the program to provide a one-time payment of UAH 6,500 will cover more than 660,000 people.
“The program is designed for people who need the most support: orphans, children under guardianship, children with disabilities in foster care, IDP children, IDPs with disabilities, and single pensioners. Funds will be transferred automatically through the Pension Fund. The program is scheduled to be launched in early December. The money will be used for medicines, clothes and shoes,” said Svyrydenko.
Who will receive 6500 hryvnias
According to Svyrydenko, the UAH 6,500 assistance will be provided to those who need it most. The program includes the following categories of citizens
- orphans
- children in foster care;
- children with disabilities in foster care;
- children of internally displaced persons (IDPs);
- adult IDPs with disabilities;
- single pensioners.
The funds can be spent on medicines, clothing or footwear – that is, on the most necessary things during the winter period.
How to receive the payment
You can apply for the program through Diia. The money will be credited
- to your Diia.Card, or
- to a current account with a special mode of use.
The total budget of the program is UAH 4.3 billion, and approximately 660,000 Ukrainians will be able to use it.
Other payments under the “winter package”
In addition to targeted assistance, the government plans to make a massive one-time payment of UAH 1,000 to all Ukrainian citizens, including children. This money can be spent on utilities, medicines, books, mobile communications, or donated to the Defense Forces.
Last year, more than 14 million Ukrainians received such assistance.
Of these:
- 58% spent the money on utility bills,
- 22% – for mobile communications,
- 4% – for catering.
The details of this year’s program are to be made public by November 15.
Winter support program for Ukrainians
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has instructed the government to prepare a comprehensive winter support program that will be launched in December.
“I have set a task for the Cabinet of Ministers to complete the development of the program in the coming weeks and present its details by November 15, so that people can take advantage of the assistance this year,” Zelensky said in his video address.
At the time, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko noted that the government had already identified the main directions and components of the program.
