UEFA may suspend Israel from tournaments: what is known

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is considering removing teams from Israel from tournaments under the auspices of the organization. This is reported by the publication The New York Times, "Komersant Ukrainian" informs
UEFA has held a series of meetings with representatives of the pro-Palestinian initiative Game Over Israel to discuss the legal mechanisms and conditions under which such a decision could be made.
Talks about Israel’s suspension from UEFA began in September. on September 24, it became known that UEFA had removed the issue of eliminating teams from Israel from the Executive Committee meeting held on September 23.
on September 25, it was reported that UEFA was preparing to vote on the termination of the Israeli federation’s membership. It is expected that the majority of the 20-member UEFA Executive Committee will support the removal of all Israeli teams from international tournaments. However, no further information on this matter has been received.
on October 3, it became known that the council of the International Football Federation (FIFA) did not discuss the possible suspension of Israel. It was stated that FIFA did not want to harm the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 18.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has previously called for Israel’s suspension from international sports competitions because of the military actions in the Gaza Strip.
