The document “On the registration of a collective labor dispute (conflict) between the primary trade union organization of employees of the Kyiv Aviation Institute in Kyiv and the administration of the State Non-Profit Enterprise “State University “Kyiv Aviation Institute” in Kyiv” sets out the trade union’s demands to the KAI administration.
The essence of the union’s demands
- “To recognize and ensure the transfer of union dues to the account of the Primary Trade Union Organization of Employees of the Kyiv Aviation Institute…” in accordance with the terms of the collective agreement.
- “Ensure the implementation of clause 1.11 of the Collective Agreement… for 2024-2025,” which, in particular, provides for the recognition of the trade union organization as the authorized representative of the labor collective.
- “To include the column ‘Trade union (by agreement)’ on the reverse side of job applications…”, as provided for in the collective agreement.
The order also states that the document will be sent to the authorized representatives of the parties, the administration of the institution, the Kyiv City Military Administration, and the relevant ministry.
The registration of the dispute with the NSPP marks the beginning of the official procedure for resolving the conflict between the parties with the involvement of mediation mechanisms.
Information about KAI
The Kyiv Aviation Institute (KAI) is a state-owned higher education institution specializing in aviation and technical studies in the capital. In 2023, the university was reorganized and renamed from the National Aviation University to the State University “Kyiv Aviation Institute.” The institution is the successor to the NAU and trains specialists in the fields of aviation, aerospace technology, engineering, IT, cybersecurity, law, and economics.
During the reorganization, the university lost its national status. However, on February 6, the KAI regained its status.
As a result of the reorganization, the university is now headed by Ksenia Semenova, a member of the Servant of the People party in the Kyiv City Council.
