A car with a military man inside exploded in Odesa. A report of an explosion of an Opel car on Varnenska Street was received by the special line 102 this morning.
This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa region, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“According to preliminary information, a man inside the vehicle was injured. He is being provided with medical assistance. The investigative team of the territorial police unit and employees of the explosive service are working at the scene. The legal qualification of the incident will be provided after all the circumstances are clarified,” the statement said.
According to media reports, the injured man is a military man.
The SBU opened a criminal case over the car explosion in Odesa. It was classified as a terrorist attack.
This was reported by the SBU office in Odesa region.
“The SBU classifies the car explosion in the Kyiv district of Odesa on July 5 as an attempted terrorist attack and has already opened a criminal investigation,” the statement said.
The pre-trial investigation continues under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (terrorist act).
As noted, the SBU and the National Police are taking comprehensive measures to establish all the circumstances of the explosion and the persons involved in it.
