The Prosecutor-General’s Office, responding to a request from the Komersant ukrainskyi business daily, affirmatively reported that representatives of the Defence Ministry committed offences in the context of the case of Lviv businessman Roman Hrynkevych. We are talking about a case accusing the latter of supplying the MOD with low-quality military uniforms.

“The Office of the Prosecutor General is carrying out procedural management of pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings №62023000000000876 of 12.10.2023 on suspicion of the persons mentioned in the request (Roman Hrynkevich, in particular – ed.) in committing criminal offences under part 1 of Art. 255, part 2. Art. 255, part 3 of article 27, part 4 of article 28, part 5 of article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and other persons in committing criminal offences under part 2 of article 255, part 2 of article 27. 255, part 2 of article 27, part 2 of article 27, part 4 of article 28, part 5 of article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, as well as in the commission of criminal offences under part 2 of art. 255, part 5 of article 27, part 4 of article 28, part 5 of article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

In this criminal proceeding the total amount of damage is 934,013,447 hryvnias.

During the pre-trial investigation, including investigate the circumstances of the commission of a criminal offence by employees of the Ministry of defence of Ukraine“, – said in the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The OGP also added that the term of pre-trial investigation in the case of Hrynkevich Jr. extended until 17 January 2025.

Earlier, the media reported that the GBI and the Office of the Prosecutor General plan to hand over a notice of suspicion in the “Hrynkevych case” to representatives of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. The SBI has been investigating this case for more than 9 months, but the names of the defendants among the officials have not been announced yet.

We shall remind you that according to the text of the Resolution of Pecherskiy District Court, the investigation of the GBI established close ties between Roman Hrynkevich and employees of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. The ruling does not specify who exactly we are talking about and how many such persons.

But it is known that the suspects in the proceedings are only Roman Hrynkevich himself and representatives of two other private companies-suppliers of the IOU. For some reason, the companies producing the AFU uniforms, which the investigation identifies as substandard, are not included in the case.
