Testing of the e-Accounts system has begun in Ukraine: details

On January 1, 2026, Ukraine began testing the e-Accounts system, a digital tool to combat the illegal tobacco and alcohol market.
This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to him, from January 1, businesses will have access to all the necessary functionality – previously, only certain features were tested.
Testing will last until October 12, so that businesses can gradually and easily adapt to the changes, namely
- to establish interaction between their own IT systems and the e-Accounts electronic system;
- conduct full-scale testing of the system – from creating test electronic excise tax stamps, moving entire batches of products to redeeming test electronic stamps at retail cash registers;
- set up and optimize their own business processes.
What is known about e-Accounts?
Ukraine is currently creating an electronic system for the circulation of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products called e-Accounts. Testing of the system was expected to begin in March 2025, with the official launch scheduled for 2026. The development was entrusted to Eleks
The e-Accounts system is designed to replace traditional paper excise stamps with electronic ones with unique codes, allowing people to scan products using the Diia app, check the legality and origin of goods, and file complaints in case of violations.
