The wine industry is actively developing in Ukraine. Volodymyr Pechko, chairman of the Ukrsadvynprom association, said this in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian".

“Over the past 4 years, the number of wineries in Ukraine has increased by 65%. Small craft chateaux are appearing – 3-5 hectares each. There are already about 10 such official enterprises near Kyiv that pay taxes and provide jobs,” he explained.

Pechko noted that these enterprises create opportunities for wine tourism and popularize Ukrainian grape varieties.

“You can come, drink Ukrainian wine, taste local cuisine and feel the atmosphere of a small France near Kyiv,” he said.

As a reminder, Ukrainian winemaking is experiencing a revival despite the military challenges. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the area of vineyards in Ukraine exceeds 40 thousand hectares, most of them are concentrated in the south and west of the country.

In 2022, Ukraine joined the International Organization of Grapes and Wine (OIV), which allows it to harmonize quality standards with European ones and expand export opportunities.

In recent years, Ukrainian wines have won medals at prestigious competitions in France, Italy, and the UK. At the same time, experts emphasize the need to invest in modernizing production and strengthening quality control in order to compete in the global market.
