Most new electric vehicles imported to Ukraine came from China

In the 4 months since the beginning of the year, 21.4 thousand passenger electric vehicles (5.5 thousand new and 15.9 thousand used) have been imported to Ukraine. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Ukravtoprom.
According to the report, the total customs value of these imports was $476.3 million.
The largest number of new electric vehicles were imported from China – more than 4.7 thousand units worth $111.2 million.
According to Ukravtoprom, the top 5 countries supplying new electric vehicles are as follows:
- China – 4767 units;
- Japan – 242 units;
- Belgium – 151 units;
- Germany – 139 units;
- Great Britain – 78 units.
More than a third (38%) of used electric vehicles were imported from the United States – almost 6 thousand units worth $102.2 million.
Top 5 countries supplying used electric vehicles:
- USA – 5967 units;
- Germany – 2614 units;
- Korea – 1775 units;
- Great Britain – 1739 units;
- China – 1251 units.
The statistics show the growing popularity of electric vehicles in Ukraine and indicate the regions where these cars are in greatest demand. The demand for electric vehicles increased by 68% over the year.
Meanwhile, the West is fighting the Chinese electric car industry: The EU is ready to take tough measures against Chinese electric cars, and the US will quadruple tariffs on them.
