Ukrzaliznytsia appoints new chairman of supervisory board: who will be the new chairman?

At its first meeting in October 2025, the Supervisory Board of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC elected Gepard Hafer as chairman and Serhiy Leshchenko as deputy chairman of the Supervisory Board. Gepard Hafer has been chairing the supervisory board since February 2, 2022.

This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.

As a reminder, on October 1, 2025, the Government approved a new composition of the Supervisory Board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia. Its independent members were selected following an open competition organized and conducted by the Committee for the Appointment of Heads of Enterprises Important to the Economy with the participation of an international executive search company.

Thus, the Supervisory Board includes:

Elżbieta Ewa Bieńkowska, former Minister of Infrastructure and Development of Poland, European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services;

Gepard Hafer, a scientist and logistics expert, former Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ukrzaliznytsia, with experience at Deutsche Bahn;

Maksym Moklyak, former head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, an expert in the financial sector;

Anatoliy Amelin, entrepreneur and co-founder of the Ukrainian Institute for the Future;

David Lomdzharia, manager with experience of cooperation with international financial institutions, chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ukroboronprom, representative of the state;

Serhiy Leshchenko, politician and journalist, former Member of Parliament of Ukraine – representative of the state.

Oleksandr Kamyshin, who was appointed last fall, also remains the state representative on the Supervisory Board.

As a reminder, Ukrzaliznytsia returned UAH 70 million thanks to the joint efforts of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) and the company’s corporate security department.
