HACC confiscated part of the property of former MP Oleynik, who fled to Russia

The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has partially satisfied the claim of the Ministry of Justice to impose sanctions on former MP of the VII convocation from the Party of Regions Volodymyr Oliynyk. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Justice, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The politician left Ukraine after the Revolution of Dignity in 2014 and is hiding in Russia.

What exactly was confiscated?

According to a court decision, it was transferred to the state:

  • 1/2 and 1/4 of real estate in Cherkasy;
  • 1/2 of a real estate property in Kyiv region;
  • 1/2 of a motorized pleasure craft.

At the same time, the court refused to seize the corporate rights of E.S.P. Technologies, which belongs to the ex-MP’s wife, Liudmyla Oliynyk.

What is known about Oliynyk?

After the Revolution of Dignity, Volodymyr Oliynyk moved to Russia. In December 2016, he obtained a court ruling there that called the events in Ukraine in 2014 a “coup d’etat.” Oliynyk is one of the founders of the pro-Russian organization “Committee for the Salvation of Ukraine” and regularly appears in Russian propaganda programs.

In September 2022, the Security Service of Ukraine notified him and former MP Oleh Tsarev of suspicion of high treason and illegal border crossing. According to the investigation, they arrived in the temporarily occupied Kyiv region to help establish the occupation administration there.

What’s next?

The court’s decision on the confiscation of assets will come into force after the expiration of the appeal period.
