Murder of a TCC soldier: the suspect worked at the Lviv Customs Office

Law enforcement officials have detained a man suspected of a fatal attack on a serviceman at the Territorial Recruitment Center in Lviv. According to the investigation, the suspect is a 35-year-old inspector with the Lviv Customs Office.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated under paragraph 8, part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The punishment under this article provides for 10 to 15 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
Reaction from the Customs Service
The State Customs Service of Ukraine confirmed that the detainee is indeed an employee of the Lviv Customs Office.
The service stated that:
- they are cooperating with law enforcement agencies;
- they are assisting in establishing all the circumstances of the crime.
The agency also emphasized that it does not support or condone unlawful actions by its employees, and that the final assessment of the events must be made by the investigation and the court.

The attack took place on Paton Street in Lviv
According to police, during the alert drills, a man stabbed a serviceman from the Galician-Frankivsk District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support in the neck and then fled.
The victim was hospitalized with a critical injury to the carotid artery, but despite resuscitation efforts, he died in the hospital.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine responded to the incident.
The ministry stated that the mobilization system requires changes, which they plan to implement in the near future.
At the same time, they emphasized that no systemic issues can justify violence against military personnel.
The ministry emphasized that military personnel, regardless of where they serve—on the front lines or in the rear—ensure the defense of the state, and an attack on them is a blow to the country’s security.
