Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko expects active hostilities in the Russian-Ukrainian war to end in 1-2 months. He said this at the forum “Democratic Resilience of Ukraine during the War and Recovery Period,” according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
“We can model the end of hostilities, hopefully in a month or two. It is unclear on what terms, but I am sure that it can hardly be called positive… The so-called compromise can be very painful for every Ukrainian… The so-called compromise may be painfully perceived in society. I don’t know what we are talking about, but we understand that if something happens, the compromise will hurt each of us,”
– klitschko said.
The mayor of Kyiv noted that after the war there will be many unemployed demobilized soldiers who will be subject to manipulation by political forces.

“These are the people who have a salary now, who will return, who will need to find a job as soon as possible…. And at this time, pre-election issues begin, elections, where, I’m afraid, there will be a struggle to destroy…”
– says the mayor of Kyiv.
So Klitschko is even afraid not just of political instability, but also of some violent armed riots and general destabilization of society.
Experts also say that a peaceful compromise will be difficult to accept. For example, political scientist Ruslan Bortnik argues that “Trump has a plan, but neither Kyiv nor Moscow likes it.”
