Tesla is planning to launch a network of unmanned taxis in the US state of Texas on June 22. This was announced by the company’s founder Elon Musk on his account on the social network X.
The billionaire noted that the date may be shifted due to the company’s extremely high security requirements.

Technology demonstration in Texas
On Tuesday, Tesla’s management, including Musk, actively promoted a video showing one of the company’s cars driving through the streets of Austin without a driver behind the wheel. The video signaled that the company is getting closer to launching a robot taxi service in the Texas capital.
In the video, posted on social network X, a black Model Y with the words “robotaxi” on the front door turns from South Congress Avenue, a popular tourist area of the city. Preliminary plans and testing
According to Bloomberg, Tesla planned to launch its Robotaxi network on June 12. The company is testing unmanned Model Y SUVs that will be used at the initial stage of the service launch.
Model Y cars with production license plates and a human behind the wheel have been spotted on the streets of different parts of Austin, including South Congress, where the company is testing its autonomous driving technology.
