Ukrainian positions in the Kursk region came under another massive attack by North Korean troops operating as part of the Russian military. During the fighting, the Ukrainian military killed a North Korean special forces commander. Unique footage released by journalist Yuriy Butusov shows the equipment and documents of the DPRK soldier, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

According to the journalist, the North Korean armed forces, united with Russian troops, launched another massive attack on the positions of the first mechanized battalion of the 22nd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The enemy assault groups came close to Ukrainian positions, but absolutely all of the attackers were destroyed in close combat.

In particular, one of those killed was a North Korean special forces officer who commanded several platoons aimed at capturing Ukrainian positions near the village of Mala Loknya in the Kursk region.

The following was found on the officer’s person:

  1. A Russian military cover document issued in September 2024, but without a photo. It contains the name “Kaladzinsky Ayapin Duun Oolovich”, which is obviously fake.
  2. The diary is in Korean and is currently being analyzed for more information.

The officer’s equipment included:

  • Two assault rifles: a new AK-12 and a 12-gauge Vepr automatic rifle for fighting drones.
  • A large amount of ammunition: eight magazines, including one for 45 rounds.
  • Grenades: fragmentation RGO and more powerful F1.
  • A backpack with additional ammunition, batteries and a radio station.
  • Pobeda milk chocolates.

The journalist drew special attention to the fact that the Korean officer’s equipment far exceeded the typical equipment of Russian infantrymen.

The officer had a Chinese digital radio supplied by the Russian Ministry of Defense. As noted, the North Korean army does not have its own mobile communications or navigation equipment. The officer was guided by paper maps provided by the Russians and self-created schemes.
