Bronevytskyi: Hundreds of millions from NABU and SAPO go to Prytula and Sternenko’s charitable foundations without any control, we need safeguards

Funds received by the NABU and SAPO as part of their agreements with the investigation are not directed directly to military units, but to volunteer foundations, including those of Serhiy Sternenko and Serhiy Prytula. This practice requires state safeguards. This was stated in an interview with the YouTube channel
“It is likely that this practice started on the basis of personal acquaintances of the SAPO and NABU leadership with representatives of such funds. It is possible. But there should definitely be some kind of fuse from the state. Because after the transfer is made, the state has no control over how these funds are used and where they go. That is, there is no external control,” he says.
The lawyer notes that although the SAPO reports that it sends the proceeds of the agreements “to the army,” in fact, the money does not go directly to military units, but is transferred to funds whose further financial activities are not accountable to the state. This creates a number of risks – from possible abuse to the lack of transparent control over which units receive support and to what extent.
“Some kind of filter or fuse must be created. So that society understands that such and such amount of money was transferred there, such and such amount of money was used to buy certain pieces of military equipment. It would be great if there were fuses everywhere, if there was public control and public reporting,” he added.
In general, according to SAPO, UAH 2.9 billion has already been allocated for the needs of the defense forces as a result of the agreements, including through the United, Come Back Alive, Serhiy Prytula and Serhiy Sternenko Charitable Foundations.
Part of these funds was used by the SAPO to purchase military bonds, for the GUR and SSO units.
