18 December 2024 05:21
Ukrenergo has released information about power outages on December 18, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The company first said that half a dozen blackouts would be in effect from 7:00 to 20:00. This applies to household consumers.
Schedules for industry and business will be applied during the same period.
Subsequently, Ukrenergo canceled the cutoffs for residential consumers for December 18. The schedules for industry and business remain unchanged.
“The reason for the restrictions is the damage to power facilities as a result of three Russian missile and drone attacks in November and December. Repairs at the power facilities are ongoing. Power engineers are working to return the equipment damaged by the enemy to operation as soon as possible,” Ukrenergo said.
The company warned that the time of application and the scope of restrictions during the day may change.
It should be noted that on the morning of December 13, the Russian army carried out another massive attack on Ukraine. In particular, the enemy used Tu-95MS bombers, Kalibr bombers from the Black Sea, and ballistic missiles. Explosions are heard all over Ukraine. In particular, they were heard in Odesa, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Khmelnytsky regions.
Earlier, Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko said that the target of the Russian army’s massive missile strike on December 13 against Ukraine was the energy sector.
