Power outages on November 18: when and where the schedules will be in effect

On Tuesday, November 18, most Ukrainian regions will resume working according to blackout schedules. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Ukrenergo.

The reason for the restrictions is the consequences of massive Russian missile and drone attacks on energy facilities

What restrictions will be in effect on November 18

Schedules of hourly outages (HOU):

• from 00:00 to 23:59 – in the range of 1.5 to 4 queues depending on the region and grid load.

Schedules of power limitations (SL):

• from 00:00 to 23:59 – will be applied to industrial consumers.

Ukrenergo clarifies that the actual time and scope of restrictions may vary. Each regional power distribution company independently adjusts the schedules depending on the situation in the grid.

“Follow the updates on the official pages of your regional power company. If the power is returned on schedule, we ask you to consume it sparingly,” the power engineers said.

What are hourly outage schedules and how do they work?

The Ministry of Energy explains: HSTs apply to everyone who is not included in the list of critical infrastructure. These are:

• household consumers (population);
• non-household consumers (businesses, offices, shops).

The schedules are structured into six equal queues, each of which includes two sub-queues. This allows for even load distribution and avoidance of blackouts.

What do power engineers advise?

Ukrainians are urged to follow the updates on the official pages of their regional power distribution companies, as the schedules may change depending on the situation in the power system.

The company also asks people to consume electricity sparingly, especially when the power comes back on after a blackout.

“Ukrenergo urges Ukrainians to follow the updates on the official pages of regional power distribution companies in their region. They publish current schedules and changes in outages.

“When electricity is supplied on schedule, please use it sparingly,” the company emphasized.
