Detectives of the Kyiv Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security have served a suspicion on a well-known blogger for tax evasion in the amount of UAH 11 million. This is reported on the bureau’s website, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“According to the investigation, the suspect has been receiving funds to her bank accounts for advertising goods on social media for 5 years. However, she did not include this income in her tax returns on the status and income of an individual. In this way, the blogger evaded paying taxes,” the statement said.

According to media reports, this is blogger Sofia Stuzhuk.

The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office reported that the 30-year-old Instagram blogger was notified of suspicion of intentional tax evasion on a particularly large scale (Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that she, registered as an individual entrepreneur, received income of more than UAH 58 million in the period from 2018 to 2022, but did not pay taxes and fees. As a result, the state budget lost UAH 10.5 million in income tax and almost UAH 900 thousand in military duty.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the blogger has been abroad, so she was served with a notice of suspicion in absentia.

Having an audience of millions, at the beginning of the war she did not express her position on Russian aggression against Ukraine, and later made contradictory statements. In October 2022, for example, she claimed that Ukrainians were allegedly guilty of missile attacks on Ukraine because they were happy about the strikes on Russia and the Crimean bridge.

She also advertised Russian bloggers, refocusing on the Russian audience.

As a reminder, the blogger with three children, David, Lolita and Olivia, from her ex-husband, Dmytro Stuzhuk, who died of COVID-19, moved abroad in the first days of the full-scale war. Later, she married a Lithuanian man to whom she gave birth to two daughters.

Before the full-scale invasion, Sofia was a fairly popular blogger in Ukraine. She opened businesses here, wrote about motherhood, pregnancy, and health.
