Famous Ukrainian TV presenter mobilizes to the Armed Forces: victory cannot be just waited for

Well-known Ukrainian TV presenter and journalist Vadym Karpiak has announced his mobilization to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He announced his decision on October 1 on his Facebook page, emphasizing that it was a conscious step and personal responsibility, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“Today was my last day as the host of the talk studios of United News. I am mobilizing. If we want to finish it, everyone must take responsibility. My beloved and I agreed that her responsibility now is to take care of the children, and mine is to be in the defense forces,” Karpiak wrote.
The TV presenter admitted that he had spoken hundreds of times on air about the shortage of military personnel, and now it was time to become one of them.
“I love my children and do not want to pass this war on to them. As a wise man once told me: you have to live as you preach. That’s why I am mobilizing to the eighth corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I have seen these soldiers in action and I am proud to join them.”
The journalist said that he would complete all civilian affairs and work projects within two weeks, after which he would go to the military medical commission.
“And then I’ll go to the MEC, the BZVP, and… Since childhood, I’ve been fighting for the eighth airborne corps,” he added.
Who is Vadym Karpiak?
Vadym Karpiak is the host of the United News telethon and the author’s program About Law and Grace.
In October 2024, he also became the host of the political project Karpiak on Suspilne.
In 2022, Karpiak received the Order of Merit, III degree, for his significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian journalism and dedication during the coverage of the events of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
