In the near future, Dnipro may face a new threat: the Russian military will be able to strike the city with air bombs. This statement was made by Roman Svitan, a retired colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, for the Times of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

According to him, the breakthrough is likely to come from the south and southeast of Dnipropetrovs’k region.

“They will not reach Dnipro in the near future, because it is more than 200 kilometers away. However, Russia has KABs with a range of a hundred kilometers, so when they enter the region or if they get closer, they can use them to reach Dnipro,” Svitan said.

Earlier, Maksym Zhorin, deputy commander of the Third Assault Brigade, said that Dnipropetrovs’k region should be prepared for defense against Russian occupants at an accelerated pace.

“Dnipropetrovska oblast needs to be prepared for defense today. We should not be constantly moving from city to city, while at the same time hastily preparing these cities for defense. We need to plan all this and build a strong defense line in advance. We should not wait until the front line moves to the next settlement,” the military called.

Zhorin added that, given the situation with Selydove and Pokrovsk, Dnipropetrovs’k region should be prepared for defense and this process should be controlled.

Meanwhile, Mykola Lukashuk, head of the Dnipropetrovs’k Regional Council, noted that fortifications are being built around the region, and there is no need to spread panic.

“I suggest everyone calm down. Do you think that the military should come out with a map and show the public where and what fortifications they have built? This is classified information, there is a war in the country,” Lukashuk said.
