19 August 2024 10:13
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk called on residents of Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad and Selidove in Donetsk region to evacuate to safer places, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Vereshchuk noted that the situation remains difficult in the Pokrovsk direction. She stressed the need to evacuate residents of settlements located in close proximity to the front line. First of all, Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad and Selydove.
“I am asking you to evacuate. If you are not involved in the defence of the settlements, you must leave for safer regions. Your and your children’s lives and health are most valuable. Your staying there hinders the work of the Defence Forces. I understand that you are leaving your jobs, homes, and property. But the lives and health of you and your children are more valuable,” Vereshchuk wrote.
In her post , the minister added important contacts for those wishing to evacuate:
- General hotline for Donetsk region: 0-800-500-121.
- Pokrovsk community: 0-800-300-101.
- Selydivka community: 080-033-64-54.
- Myrnohrad community: 050-648-15-19.
- Ministry of Reintegration: 15-48.
Vereshchuk noted that she understands that in evacuation someone may face difficulties and uncertainty, but it is better than under fire, on the line of fire.
“Also, you will not be alone in the evacuation. The government, local authorities, volunteers, international organisations and, in fact, the host communities will all help you,” said Vereshchuk.
Due to constant shelling in the cities of Myrnohrad and Selidove in Donetsk Oblast, the curfew has been extended. Starting from 19 August, it will last for 20 hours, from 15:00 to 11:00.
We would like to add that the Pokrovske direction remains one of the hottest areas of the frontline. The highest number of combat engagements has been recorded there over the past month.
