For the first time for the whole year: The Defense Ministry’s DOT announces food procurement for 2026

The State Logistics Operator of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has announced the procurement of food products for the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 2026.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
This is the first time that the DOT has made food purchases for the entire year. The total expected cost is approximately UAH 37 billion. The total annual requirement is approximately UAH 40 billion, and the rest of the tenders will be announced later.
This approach will ensure a continuous supply of food to military units, stable working conditions for suppliers and the possibility of planning production in advance. Previously, procurement was carried out separately for each half of the year.
For the second year in a row, the State Defense Department is starting the procurement cycle for the next year ahead of schedule, and this time even earlier than in the previous year.
The new contracts will retain the conditions of enhanced quality control, in particular for the supply of dairy products, to prevent cases of counterfeiting.
The regional supply strategy, which has already proved effective in the previous period, will also continue to be in place. Under this model, a supplier is assigned to a specific region (oblast), which allows for convenient management of logistics, efficiency of deliveries and quick response to possible changes.
As of the end of October 2025:
- over 599 million kg of products shipped;
- more than 249 million liters of drinking water were delivered;
- processed over 85,000 applications from military units.
