Loss for aviation: Su-27 pilot Major Borovyk was killed during a combat mission

On Thursday, September 11, a pilot of the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade, Major Oleksandr Borovyk , was killed in the Zaporizhzhia sector during a combat mission in a Su-27. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to a Facebook post by the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade.
“We are saddened to inform you that on September 11, 2025, at about 13:30, in the Zaporizhzhia direction, while performing a combat mission on a Su-27 aircraft, our brother-in-arms, a pilot of the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade, Major Borovyk Oleksandr Mykolayovych, born on April 19, 1995, died,” the post reads.
The brigade added that the causes and circumstances of the death of the soldier are currently being investigated.
In addition, Bohdana Yarova, a volunteer and member of the Public Anti-Corruption Council at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, posted a message about the deceased pilot on her social media page.
“He was only 30 years old. I knew him personally. We were discussing a new uniform for pilots together. Oleksandr actively participated, gave comments, and became a model himself,” she wrote.
