When choosing wine, you should pay attention to several indicators. One of them is the alcohol content. Volodymyr Pechko, chairman of the Ukrsadvynprom association, said this in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian".
“The alcohol content in white wine should not be less than 12%, and in red wine – not less than 13%. If a wine has an alcohol content of 14-14.5%, it indicates ripe, high-quality grapes with a high sugar content. And the so-called wines with an alcohol content of 6-8% are wine drinks, not real wines,” he said.
A bottle of high-quality red wine cannot cost 100 UAH, Pechko continued.
“It will cost from 500 to 800 UAH or more,” he added.
Pechko also named popular Ukrainian grape varieties. These are: Odesa black, dry Liman, zagrei, yarylo, Odesa muscat, and citron magaracha.
