The Prosecutor General’s Office, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, detained one of the heads of the detective unit of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. It is Ruslan Magamedrasulov, the head of the NABU’s territorial department, which coordinates the Bureau’s activities in the frontline regions. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Prosecutor General’s Office and the SBU.

“The Prosecutor General’s Office, together with the SBU, exposed and detained Ruslan Magamedrasulov, the head of one of the territorial departments of NABU detectives. A notice of suspicion of aiding the aggressor state under Art. 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being prepared to serve the NABU official,” the official statement said

Contacts with Russia and shadow business established

According to the investigation, Magamedrasulov not only maintained ties with representatives of the Russian economic sector, but also acted as an intermediary in the sale of industrial hemp to the Republic of Dagestan (RF). At the same time, its cultivation was organized by his father, September Magamedrasulov.

“Ruslan Magamedrasulov acted as an intermediary in the sale of batches of industrial hemp to the Republic of Dagestan (Russian Federation), the illegal cultivation of which was organized by his father, entrepreneur Sentyabr Magamedrasulov. In this way, he helps his father to conduct illegal trade with Russia and harm Ukraine,” the Prosecutor General’s Office emphasizes.

SBU investigators published intercepts of conversations in which they discussed the “state program” for the purchase of cannabis in Dagestan.

Family ties with the aggressor country and concealment of citizenship

The pre-trial investigation revealed that the suspect’s father, September Magamedrasulov, has Russian citizenship, but Ruslan did not indicate this fact when gaining access to state secrets, which violated Ukrainian law.

In addition, the suspect’s mother, Iryna Magamedrasulova, who lives in Kyiv, receives a pension from the so-called “DPR.” She publishes pro-Russian comments on social media, in particular in groups with the “Z” symbol. According to the SBU, in her conversations, she justified Putin’s war against Ukraine and supported armed aggression.

Contacts with the OPFL MP and possible information leakage

The investigation revealed that the detainee maintained close contact with MP Fedir Khrystenko, who fled Ukraine after the outbreak of war. Khrystenko is a member of the banned pro-Russian party OPFL, and, according to the investigation, is currently cooperating with Russian special services.

They are also checking the version of the transfer of classified information to Russian special services. This includes data on the progress of investigations conducted by the NABU.

“We are currently checking information about Ruslan Magamedrasulov’s contacts with Russian special services and the transfer of secret information to them, including the investigation of cases,” the PGO said.

Kyiv instead of Dnipro and vacation in the Canaries

Ruslan Magamedrasulov was supposed to be stationed in Dnipro and responsible for the work of the NABU in the frontline regions. However, it was found that he spent most of his time in Kyiv, and recently spent several weeks on vacation in the Canary Islands – Tenerife.

“Despite the fact that Ruslan Magamedrasulov, as one of the heads of the NABU Interregional Detective Department, was supposed to be stationed in Dnipro and responsible for work in the frontline regions, he was almost constantly in Kyiv and recently returned from an elite vacation on Tenerife, where he spent several weeks,” the SBU said.

The investigation is ongoing

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officers are conducting operational activities to identify the full range of persons involved, studying the circumstances of the data transfer to the enemy and preparing a notice of suspicion to the official.

“The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Comprehensive measures are being taken to clarify all the circumstances of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice,” the Prosecutor General’s Office summarized.
