Oil pipeline explosion in the Ryazan region: what is known
27 August 15:13
on August 26 in the Ryazan region of the Russian Federation, an emergency occurred at the strategically important Ryazan-Moscow oil pipeline. A powerful explosion caused a large-scale fire and a complete stop of fuel and lubricants supplies to the Russian capital. This is reported by Ukrainska Pravda with reference to sources in the Ukrainian security services, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The incident occurred on one of the most important energy arteries of the Russian Federation, which supplies Moscow with oil products.
Residents of Ryazan reported a strong sound of an explosion, after which an intense fire broke out on a section of the highway. Within a few hours, numerous units of emergency services arrived at the scene.

The epicenter of the incident was localized near the village of Bozhatkovo in the Zheleznodorozhny district of Ryazan, where law enforcement officers and technical teams are now working to eliminate the accident.
As a result of the accident, supplies of oil products to Moscow have been suspended for an indefinite period, which may affect the fuel supply to the capital region of Russia.
It is worth noting that this pipeline has been operated by state-owned Transneft since 2018 for the transportation of motor fuel, particularly for the needs of the Russian armed forces.

As reported, Ukrainian drones conducted a number of pinpoint strikes on strategically important Russian oil refineries and elements of the fuel system during August. As a result of these attacks, some refineries suspended operations, large fires broke out, and oil deliveries through the Druzhba pipeline were temporarily interrupted. The blows have been so tangible for Russia that, against this backdrop, several regions of the country have already introduced restrictions on gasoline sales: fuel is being issued on coupons for businesses, and AI-95 prices have skyrocketed.
