Wix to block all Russian accounts due to sanctions

Israeli IT company Wix will stop providing services to Russian residents from 12 September 2024 due to sanctions. According to the service’s support centre, the changes will affect all accounts, including free ones, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
According to the company’s statement, all accounts will be blocked and access to all accounts will be restricted. The reason for the blocking is a new package of sanctions, which also comes into effect on 12 September.
The company will also remove from publication all websites owned by the owners of the blocked Russian accounts.
It should be noted that earlier in 2022, Wix stated that it “does not and will not sell anything in Russia”, but the ability to create and publish free websites remained available in Russia.
The company justified this decision by saying that “Wix is first and foremost a platform that ensures freedom of speech”. Sites that support war and violence in any way will be removed.
Wix.com is an international cloud-based platform for creating and developing Internet projects that allows you to build professional websites and their mobile versions.
