I personally reported to the head of the SAPO on the involvement of his deputy in leaks of investigation information – Bronevytskyi about Sinyuk and Klymenko

Everyone who worked in the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office knew about the leaks from the walls of the institution. And they reported this to the head of the SAPO , Oleksandr Klymenko, naming specific names. The facts of “leaking” information influenced the further course of the investigation of cases and allowed the perpetrators to avoid responsibility. Stanislav Bronevytskyi, a lawyer and former employee of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, said this in an interview with Kommersant Ukrainskyi .
“It is no surprise to anyone that a particular prosecutor is involved in the disclosure. Everyone was talking about this prosecutor. I personally reported to the head (Oleksandr Klymenko – ed.) that your deputy (Andriy Synyuk – ed.) was leaking the case. I said this as part of the investigation of my case,” Bronevytskyi emphasized.
According to him, detectives and prosecutors recorded signs of information leakage from the SAPO after the defendants in several proceedings began to show awareness of investigative actions that had not yet been officially launched. The most egregious case was a search that the suspects knew about in advance.
“The detectives and I realized that we had a leak. Through logical reasoning, we found out who this person was. There was a leaked search, that is, information about the search was leaked to people, and people prepared for this search. And information about the notice of suspicion was leaked,” he said.
Bronevytskyi noted that he and the head of his unit personally reported to Klymenko on who exactly could be the source of the leaks.
“I and the head of the structural unit where my detectives worked – we came to the head of the SAPO and told him about this story, pointing to his deputy as the person who is most likely responsible for the leak,” he emphasized.
The lawyer added that if the SAPO leadership had reacted in time, there would have been no leaks in its investigations or in the current high-profile cases, including the Mindich case.
“If there had been a proper reaction in the spring of 2024, when we talked about it, he would have been gone by now,” Bronevytskyi said.
Mindich’s escape and Sinyuk’s dismissal
As you know, the NABU reported the exposure of a corruption scheme in the energy sector, within which suspicion was subsequently announced in absentia to businessman Timur Mindich. The latter managed to leave Ukraine.
The day before, Ukrayinska Pravda journalists found out that the (now) former deputy head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, Andriy Sinyuk, had met with lawyer Oleksiy Meniv on several occasions. According to the UP, he may be connected to Mindich.
At the same time, the head of the SAPO, Oleksandr Klymenko, during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee, actually “removed” suspicions of leaks from Sinyuk in the Midas case.
He stated that the people Sinyuk met with were not involved in the Mindich case.
“In fact, we do not see any connection between these people, who were filmed meeting with
Sinyuk, with the activities of this criminal organization. They are connected with completely different people, possibly connected with other criminal proceedings – we are checking this,” Klymenko said.
Currently, two criminal proceedings have been opened regarding the leakage of data from the NABU and the SAPO.
Klymenko’s deputy, Sinyuk, was dismissed from the SAPO “at his own request” amid the OTP investigation and Mindich’s own escape.
