How the lights will be turned off in Ukraine on February 8: what is known
7 February 23:48
Tomorrow, February 8, hourly power outages will be in effect throughout Ukraine for the entire day. The restrictions will apply to both residential and industrial consumers.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to an official statement by Ukrenergo.
According to energy officials, the introduction of the schedules is a necessary step due to significant damage to the energy infrastructure.
“The reason for the introduction of restrictions is the consequences of Russian missile and drone attacks on energy facilities,” the company explained.
Energy officials add that the situation in the power system remains dynamic and may change depending on consumption levels and the state of the networks.
“Find out the time and scope of power cuts at your address on the official websites of the power companies in your region,” Ukrenergo said, urging citizens to be economical.
We remind you that Russia has carried out another combined attack on Ukraine, using strategic aviation, cruise missiles, and strike drones. A number of regions have reported destruction, injuries, and large-scale emergency power outages.
The energy infrastructure of the western regions was particularly affected, which is why the situation with electricity supply remains critical. In Ivano-Frankivsk, long and strict power outage schedules may be introduced.
