Which companies are most active in registering trademarks in 2024: Top 10 leaders

According to the Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovations (UNIPI), 18,008 trademark applications have already been filed in the first nine months of this year. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Opendatabot.
It is noted that 267,600 applications for trademark registration have been filed in Ukraine since 2015. Most often, people want to patent business activities, advertising, medical products and educational projects. Roshen filed the largest number of trademark applications.
“From 2015 to 2019, the number of applications grew annually. The record year was 2019 – 33,745 applications. However, with the onset of the pandemic, the number of applications decreased by 17% to 27,883 in 2020,” analysts emphasise.
It is reported that for the second time, the number of applications for trademark registration fell sharply at the beginning of a full-scale war: to 16,162, which was the lowest in recent years.
“However, in 2023, the number of applications for trademark registration increased to 25,000. This year, 18,008 applications have already been filed in 9 months,” analysts say.

According to Opendatabot, in 2024, the most frequently requested trademarks are those for advertising and business activities – 37.4% of all applications.
The top three most sought-after trademarks also include those related to education and entertainment services (13.9%) and trademarks for pharmaceuticals, medical and veterinary products and herbicides (11.1%).
Roshen filed the largest number of trademark applications ever – 1,396. Among the companies actively filing for registration of their trademarks are: “Obolon – 1043 and Rozetka.ua – 886.
