Japan eases visa requirements for Ukrainians
25 June 2024 16:55
Japan has eased visa requirements for Ukrainian citizens since 24 June. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Japanese Embassy in Ukraine.
“This is another step towards the further development of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Japan, including the promotion of cultural exchange, commercial relations between the countries and support for Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts,”
– the ministry wrote, but did not specify which requirements were being relaxed.
Currently, according to the embassy’s website, the Consular Section of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine does not provide services, and therefore it is impossible to apply for a visa in Ukraine.
Instead, Ukrainian citizens have the right to apply for a visa at Japanese embassies in neighbouring countries: Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova.
Citizens of Ukraine who have a long-term residence permit in any other country have the right to apply to the Japanese Embassy in their country of residence.
It is not possible to apply for a visa online.
