Yaroslava Maguchikh officially became a world record holder

Ukrainian athlete and Olympic high jump champion Yaroslava Maguchikh has officially become a world record holder. This is reported on the website of the International Federation of Athletics, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The International Federation of Athletics has ratified the triumphant high jump made by Yaroslava at the competition in Paris this summer, jumping 2.10 metres.

“Ukraine’s Maguchikh improved one of the oldest world records when she jumped 2.10m on 7 July at the Parisian Meet de Paris tournament, part of the Diamond League,” the statement said.

As a reminder, Yaroslava Maguchikh won a gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The Ukrainian will receive $125,000 in prize money for the victory.

Maguchikh previously said that she would use part of the money to help the Ukrainian Defence Forces, a psychological support fund and animal shelters.
