Euro breaks records: National Bank raises exchange rate to new historic high
27 January 07:16
The National Bank of Ukraine has recorded a new historic high for the euro exchange rate. The European currency continues to rise rapidly against the hryvnia, while the US dollar remains relatively stable. This is evidenced by updated data on the NBU website, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
What exchange rate did the National Bank set for the euro?
According to the regulator’s decision, on Tuesday, January 27, the official hryvnia-to-euro exchange rate will be 51.06 UAH/EUR.
For comparison:
- On January 26, the exchange rate was 50.65 UAH/EUR;
- the previous historical record was set on January 21 — 50.72 UAH/EUR.
Thus, the euro not only exceeded the previous maximum, but also added more than 40 kopecks per day, updating the historical peak.
What about the US dollar
Unlike the euro, the dollar is showing moderate stability.
As of January 27, the National Bank set the official US dollar exchange rate at 43.12 UAH/USD, which is almost the same as Monday’s rate (43.13 UAH/USD).
At the same time, the dollar even fell in price on the cash market — by 10 kopecks, to 42.80 UAH.
