Since the beginning of the year, customs officers have detected violations worth almost UAH 11 billion

In January-May 2024, the customs of the State Customs Service of Ukraine detected 4,265 violations of customs rules worth UAH 10.8 billion. This was reported by the State Customs Service of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The State Customs Service noted that compared to the same period last year, the value of detected violations increased by almost 2.4 times.
According to the report, in 1180 cases of violation of customs rules, the objects of offences worth almost UAH 141 million were temporarily seized. In particular
- industrial goods worth almost UAH 84.2 million;
- foodstuffs worth over UAH 25.4 million
- vehicles worth UAH 30 million;
- currency worth UAH 1.6 million.
In 1,454 cases of violation of customs rules (including those initiated in previous periods), customs imposed fines worth UAH 32 million and recovered fines worth UAH 36 million.
The customs authorities submitted 2,108 cases of customs rules violations worth UAH 6 billion to the courts. As a result of court proceedings, including those initiated in previous periods, penalties (confiscation of goods and fines) amounted to over UAH 650 million.
