Since the beginning of the year, Ukrainians have bought almost 47 thousand used cars: TOP-10 models

In the first quarter of 2025, Ukrainians purchased almost 47 thousand used cars imported from abroad. This is 16% less than in the same period in 2024. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Ukravtoprom.
The average age of cars that switched to Ukrainian registration was 9.5 years. Almost half of them are gasoline cars, but electric cars occupy 22% of the market, which indicates an increase in their popularity.
Breakdown of imported cars by fuel type
The average age of cars registered in Ukraine was 9.5 years. The largest share of imported vehicles belongs to gasoline cars – 46%.
Diesel cars accounted for 23% of the market, electric cars – 22%, hybrid cars – 5%, and gas-powered vehicles – 4%.
Top 10 models in the first quarter of 2025
Volkswagen Golf was the leader among the most popular models (2,397 cars). Also in the top 10 are:
- Renault Megane – 1,731 units;
- Skoda Octavia – 1,652 units;
- Volkswagen Tiguan – 1,332 units;
- Audi Q5 – 1,299 units;
- Tesla Model Y – 1,219 units;
- Nissan Leaf – 1,207 units;
- Tesla Model 3 – 1,151 units;
- Volkswagen Passat – 1,135 units;
- Nissan Rogue – 1,037 units.
Despite the overall market decline, interest in electric cars remains, and gasoline cars remain the most popular among Ukrainians.
It is worth noting that Ukraine has determined the best cars of 2025. The main title of Car of the Year 2025 was awarded to Škoda Kodiaq.
By the way, in 2025, the Russian car market may lose dozens of Chinese car brands, which currently occupy 60% of the market.
