On the initiative of the US: Zelensky announced where the next meeting between Ukraine and Russia could take place

The US has proposed that Ukraine and Russia hold the next round of talks in Miami in a week’s time. The Ukrainian side has confirmed its participation.
According to RBC-Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this during a conversation with journalists, as reported by Komersant.
Zelensky said that he spoke with the Ukrainian negotiating team after all the meetings in Abu Dhabi. Reports are scheduled for today. Some details were discussed over the phone, but not everything.
“The US has proposed for the first time that the two negotiating teams—Ukraine and Russia—meet in the United States, probably in Miami, in a week. We have confirmed our participation,” the president said.
According to him, prisoner exchanges will continue, and teams will work on this.
The US also proposed that both sides once again support US President Donald Trump’s initiative to stop attacks on energy facilities. Ukraine has confirmed its participation, but Russia has not yet done so.
“The military held talks and understand how, if politicians decide to end the war, Ukraine and Russia will technically monitor the ceasefire, with monitoring by the US. In other words, the US has confirmed its participation. As for Europe, this does not mean that they will not be involved in the process. I am simply saying what was discussed and what was not discussed at this meeting in Abu Dhabi,” Zelensky added.
He also said that Ukraine had once again confirmed its position on the Donbas issue.
“We stand where we stand” is the fairest and most reliable model for a ceasefire today, in our opinion,” the president said.
According to Zelensky, the American side once again raised the issue of a free economic zone.
“I would like to remind you that neither Ukraine nor Russia has ever been enthusiastic about the idea of a free economic zone. Russia wants us to leave Donetsk, and we said that the most reliable position is ‘we stand where we stand’. The American side is proposing what they consider to be a compromise option. And we note that the parties discussed this issue,” he added.
Negotiations in Abu Dhabi
On February 4 and 5, the second round of peace talks between Ukraine, the US, and Russia took place in Abu Dhabi.
Following the meeting, the parties described the discussions as “constructive.” In addition, according to NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov, the delegations discussed methods for implementing a ceasefire and monitoring the cessation of hostilities.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the Ukrainian delegation is returning home, but at the same time, preparations are already underway for the next trilateral meetings. Earlier, the head of state specified that the talks should take place in the coming weeks.
