ZNPP lost power from one of the high-voltage lines at night

On the night of December 3, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant temporarily occupied by Russians lost power from one of its high-voltage lines.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

“At night, as a result of hostilities, the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant lost power from one of the high-voltage lines,” the ministry said.

The Ministry of Energy reminded that during the full-scale war, Russian shelling had repeatedly damaged ZNPP power lines and caused 12 blackouts at the plant. The last such case occurred less than a month ago.

In addition, Russia is deliberately disrupting energy infrastructure in the occupied territory and testing the connection of Zaporizhzhia NPP to its own power grid in the context of hostilities and occupation.

Situation at ZNPP

As a reminder, Zaporizhzhia NPP has been under Russian occupation since March 2022. During this time, Russia has repeatedly tried to legitimize control over the facility in violation of international law.

The latest actions of Rostekhnadzor are viewed as another manifestation of nuclear blackmail, which increases security threats to the region and the world.
