Western Europe records hottest June on record – Copernicus

According to the European climate service Copernicus, June 2025 was the warmest month in Western Europe in the history of meteorological observations. This is reported by Bloomberg, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The temperature in the region exceeded the average for 1991-2020 by 2.8°C, breaking the previous record in 2003. The hot weather covered Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, and Germany, where temperatures reached over 38°C. The heated sea, especially in the western Mediterranean, also contributed to the increase in temperature on land.
on June 30, record sea temperatures were recorded in the Gulf of Lyon and the Ligurian Sea – over 28°C.
According to global estimates, June 2025 was the third warmest month in the world with temperatures 0.5°C above normal.
In addition, Copernicus considers 2024 to be the hottest year on record. Kyiv also set temperature records during every month of last year.
