Russian drone attack on Poland: Trump’s reaction

on September 10, 2025, Poland reported a violation of its airspace by Russian drones during a massive attack on Ukraine.

Drones that could pose a threat were destroyed. The incident took place in several regions of Poland:

  • Czosnówka near Biala Podlaska
  • A residential building in Wyrzyki in the Lubelskie region of Poland
  • Near Mniskow (Łódzkie Voivodeship)
  • A cemetery in Czeczniki (Lubelskie region).

As a result of the incident, Poland activated NATO Article 4 consultations, indicating a serious escalation of the situation.

Against this backdrop, journalists asked Donald Trump about his attitude to the violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones. The US President refused to comment on the situation and ignored the question, continuing on his way to the car.

NATO does not recognize the drones in Poland as a Russian attack

NATO does not consider the incursion of Russian drones into Poland this night as an attack on a member state of the Alliance, Reuters reported, citing a NATO source.

According to the agency’s interlocutor, initial indications suggest “a deliberate incursion indicates a deliberate incursion by six to ten Russian drones.”

“This was the first time that NATO aircraft attacked potentially dangerous objects in the airspace of an ally,” the source said.

Despite this, the interlocutor added, “NATO does not consider the incursion of Russian drones into Polish territory an attack.”

It is indicated that Polish F-16 fighter jets, Dutch F-35s, Italian AWACS long-range radar detection aircraft and NATO-operated refueling planes participated in the operation to destroy the drones.

Meanwhile, a NATO spokesman released an official account of the Russian attack:

“Overnight, numerous drones entered Polish airspace and were met by Polish and NATO air defenses. The NATO Secretary General is in contact with the Polish leadership. NATO is in close consultation with Poland.”
