According to him, the enterprise was left without electricity supply due to damage to the electricity distribution system as a result of shelling. This forced the plant to shut down production facilities in emergency mode.

However, the work was resumed in a few days. Kovalenko noted that the staff acted in accordance with the established emergency protocols. Backup power supplies were used, which allowed not only to quickly restart production but also to avoid a man-made accident.

According to the regional authorities, there was no environmental damage or threats to the company’s employees or Zaporizhzhia residents. We also managed to minimize possible emissions into the atmosphere during the shutdown of technological processes.

“Zaporizhstal remains one of the key enterprises for the Ukrainian economy

The Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration emphasizes that Zaporizhstal remains one of the key enterprises for the Ukrainian economy. At the same time, the plant’s further stable operation, as the administration recognizes, will directly depend on the situation in the power grid and the intensity of Russian attacks.
